The platform
About Delorem
Delorem is a curated international art and design marketplace that connects independent and emerging artists and designers with collectors and buyers around the world. Rather than relying on traditional brick-and-mortar galleries — which are often limited by geography, connections, and institutional gatekeeping — Delorem gives artists a direct, digital route to a global audience. Every artist and designer on the platform is individually vetted, ensuring that buyers discover thoughtfully selected, original work across a wide range of creative disciplines.
Delorem's mission is to help artists and designers earn a living from their work by removing the geographic, financial, and institutional barriers that dominate the traditional art world. We believe that a creative career should be sustainable, and that great work deserves to travel. By bringing together curated talent and an international audience, we aim to make the global art market more accessible — for both the people making the work and the people who want to collect it.
Delorem is curated, not open to everyone. Unlike platforms where any seller can upload anything, every artist and designer on Delorem is reviewed before being accepted onto the platform. This means buyers can browse with confidence, knowing the selection has been thoughtfully assembled. Delorem also focuses specifically on independent and emerging creatives — people who are often overlooked by traditional gallery systems — rather than established, commercially represented artists. We also ship internationally, removing the geographical limits that so often hold creative careers back.
Delorem features a wide range of original art and design disciplines — from painting and illustration to photography, sculpture, graphic design, and beyond. The platform is international in scope, so the aesthetic range is broad and diverse. All work listed is original or produced in limited editions. If you're looking for a specific style or medium, you can use the Browse and Explore sections to filter and discover work that resonates with you.
Delorem is registered in Denmark. Our registered address is Raadhusstraede 15, 1466 København K, CVR-nr 36648805. While we are based in Copenhagen, the platform is global — we welcome artists from anywhere in the world and ship to buyers internationally.
Not in the traditional sense. Delorem is an online platform, not a physical gallery. Traditional galleries often charge high commissions, require geographic proximity, and rely heavily on existing networks. Delorem instead functions as a curated digital marketplace — artists apply to join, their work is vetted, and once accepted, it's available for purchase by the public worldwide. Artists are not tied to a single physical location or gallery relationship; they retain far more independence and reach.
Anyone, anywhere in the world. Delorem is open to private collectors, interior designers, and art enthusiasts looking for original, high-quality work. You don't need to be an art expert or a seasoned collector — if you find a piece that resonates with you, you can buy it. All you need is a free Delorem account and a shipping address.
Delorem focuses specifically on independent and emerging talent — artists and designers who are often overlooked by mass-market platforms and traditional gallery systems. Because every seller is individually vetted, buyers can trust that the work they find here is original, considered, and genuinely curated. You won't find the same pieces on mass-market sites. For artists, Delorem offers global reach, independence from physical galleries, and a direct relationship with collectors worldwide.
Our primary focus is on original works and limited-edition pieces, which ensures the greatest value for both artists and collectors. That said, the platform does support printed works — high-quality reproductions produced by Delorem's printing partners and shipped directly to the buyer. Each listing will clearly indicate whether a work is an original, a print, or a digital work, so you always know exactly what you're purchasing.
By giving artists a direct route to a global audience, Delorem removes the middlemen and institutional gatekeepers that traditionally absorb a large share of an artist's income. Artists on Delorem retain their independence, set their own prices, and build a worldwide profile — without needing gallery representation, a local network, or proximity to a major art city. Combined with international shipping and a curated platform that attracts serious buyers, this creates the conditions for a genuinely sustainable creative career.
You can reach us by email at contact@delorem.com. For disputes or formal complaints, our terms require you to first contact us at contact@delorem.com with a written description of your concern. Applying to Sell
Start by creating a free account at delorem.com/register. Once you're registered, you can submit an application to become a seller. The application is reviewed by the Delorem team, who assess the quality and fit of your work for the platform. If accepted, you'll be able to list your work and start selling internationally. If you already have an account, go to delorem.com/login to access the application.
Delorem is open to independent and emerging artists and designers from anywhere in the world. You don't need to be gallery-represented, have a formal art education, or be based in a major city. What matters is the quality and originality of your work. Delorem was created specifically to support creatives who are often excluded from traditional art market structures — so if you have something genuine to offer, we encourage you to apply.
Yes. Every artist and designer submitted is carefully vetted by the Delorem team before being accepted onto the platform. This curation process ensures a high-quality, thoughtful selection across art and design disciplines. We review both the work itself and the overall creative identity. Being a curated platform is what distinguishes Delorem from open marketplaces, and it is what gives buyers confidence in the work they find here.
Not being accepted on the first attempt doesn't mean your work isn't good — it may simply mean the timing or fit wasn't right. We encourage you to continue developing your practice and to apply again in the future. If you have questions about the outcome of your application, feel free to reach out to us at contact@delorem.com and we'll do our best to provide useful feedback.
Delorem supports the sale of Original Works of Art, Printed Works, and Digital Works. Original works are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces shipped directly from the artist to the buyer. Printed works are reproductions produced and shipped by Delorem's third-party partners. Digital works are licensed digital files. If you work across multiple disciplines or formats, you can list across these categories once accepted.
We aim to review applications as promptly as possible. Review times may vary depending on the volume of applications received. If you haven't heard back within a reasonable period, feel free to follow up with us at contact@delorem.com.
Absolutely. Delorem does not require you to be a full-time, professional artist. Many creatives juggle other work while pursuing their practice. What we're looking for is the quality and authenticity of the work itself, not your employment status or CV. Delorem exists precisely to help people build more sustainable creative careers — whatever stage you're at.
Our curation team typically reviews applications within 7–14 business days. During busy periods this may take a little longer. You'll receive a notification by email once a decision has been made. If you haven't heard back after 14 business days, feel free to follow up at contact@delorem.com.
We look for originality, technical skill, a cohesive body of work, and a professional presentation of your art or design. There is no single formula — Delorem is home to a wide range of disciplines and aesthetics — but what we're always assessing is whether the work is genuinely original, well-crafted, and suited to an international collector audience. A clear artist statement and high-quality portfolio images make a significant difference to the review process.
You will typically need to provide: your artist statement, a digital portfolio (or links to your website or social media where your work can be viewed), and your contact information. The more clearly you can communicate your practice and the range of your work, the better. If you sell both art and design, include examples of both in your portfolio submission.
Yes. We encourage artists to re-apply after 6 months if they have developed a new body of work or updated their practice since the original application. A rejection is not a permanent decision — it often reflects timing or fit rather than a judgement on the value of your work. If you'd like guidance on what to focus on before reapplying, reach out to us at contact@delorem.com.
Delorem is built around the independence of artists, and we do not require you to sell exclusively through our platform. Detailed terms regarding any specific obligations are provided in the artist agreement at the point of acceptance. We encourage you to read these carefully before accepting. If you have questions about a specific clause, contact us before signing.
